Wilhelm IV's abdication is played in the same manner as Edward VIII's abdication in real life, to the point that Wilhelm repeats Edward's words about "the help and support of the woman I love" after pledging allegiance to the new Kaiser and his brother, Louis Ferdinand (Friedrich IV). They also use the slogan of the Khmer Rouge: "To keep you is no benefit. Amerosul alludes to both Stalin's Soviet Union with the collectivization of agriculture and rapid industrialization, and Red China with their own analogue of Cultural Revolution.
